TEA TREE, Malaleuca alternifolia
The tea tree is a tree with needle-like leaves. It can grow up to seven meters tall and thrives in swampy areas, although it is now grown in plantations.
Historically, the leaves were used as a substitute for tea, and this is how it got its name. Aboriginal people in Australia have used it for centuries for its recognized antiseptic properties to heal wounds, which is why it is known to be one of the most powerful antibacterial essential oils.
