  • Lavender grows about a meter in height and produces slender purple-blue flowers with tubular calyx. The whole plant is covered with essential oil secreting glands that give it that characteristic aroma, but where they are most concentrated is in the flowers.

    Lavender has been used since ancient times, Greeks, Phoenicians, Egyptians and Romans added lavender to their bath water for its many benefits, hence its name derived from the Latin lavare, 'to wash'.
