LEMONGRASS, Cymbopogon flexuosus
Lemongrass or lemongrass, native to Asia, is a fast-growing, tall and aromatic perennial grass that grows up to five feet in height, with generally aromatic leaves with a lemon scent when crushed, linear and flattened sheets.
This is used in Asian cuisine for its unique flavor. Traditionally used in Indian Ayurvedic medicine, it is used to lower fever and fight infections. Also in the 16th century, the use of lemon grass as an antispasmodic was already reported.
