EGYPTIAN GERANIUM, Pelargonium Graveolens
The geranium is a highly branched, erect evergreen shrub that does not exceed a meter and a half in height. It has palmatifid leaves of vivid green color, velvety texture and very aromatic. The less aromatic flowers have a very vivid pink color.
Geranium plants originated from Africa and were introduced to European countries in the 17th century.
The petals are used in gourmet and sweet jellies, and the oil is used extensively in scented topical applications.
