The Himalayan cedar, also called Tibetan cedar, is a tall, evergreen tree that grows to 50 meters or more in height. A species belonging to the Pinaceae family, it grows widely on the slopes of the Himalayas in northern India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.
Its healing properties are well registered in India and its Ayurvedic medicines. The interior of the wood is aromatic and is used to make incense. In traditional Tibetan medicine, both the wood and the essence are used to treat respiratory problems.
